Originally called Philadelphia Baseball Grounds (1887-1895) and then National League Park (1895-1913), the old ballpark at 15th & Huntingdon in North Philly became known as the Baker Bowl in 1923 Since 1887 the ballpark was home to the Philadelphia Phillies and accommodated approximately 12,000 fans. After a fire in 1884 the complex was rebuilt in 1887, the first stadium of its kind to be constructed of steel and brick. While nearby Shibe Park was home to the more prolific Philadelphia Athletics, the Phil's played to smaller crowds at Baker Bowl for over 50 years until 1938. The new NFL franchise, Philadelphia Eagles, played home games at Baker Bowl from 1933 to 1935. The complex hosted Negro League baseball teams, midget car races, bicycle races and other events until being razed in 1950. We're honoring the legacy of Baker Bowl with this exclusive tee. Preshrunk 100% ringspun cotton.
